Wren Renovation – The renovation of Wren Student Union will mean the focal point of student life will be centered in a modern, attractive and functional space. Elements of this remade facility include a modern fitness center, an upgraded Timberline lounge area, a remade Lion’s Den cafe and a re-imagined multipurpose spaces dedicated to student use.
Day Hall – Day Hall will offer a new gateway to the historic upper quad. It will provide a new home for our largest academic program – business – and will feature the University Bookstore, a “black box” theatre, student gathering spaces and a “grab and go” cafe.
Athletic Field House – The new Athletic Field House will support the university’s growing NCAA program. The structure will provide locker room and training space for football, women’s soccer, and tennis, while enhancing recruitment and retention.
Huffman Renovation – Huffman Residence Hall, opened in 1947, will be dramatically renovated, inclusive of plumbing, lavatories, windows, doors, flooring, and repurposed student lounges. The restoration reflects the university’s commitment to historic preservation and more efficient use of resources.
Nursing Program Development – The development of the Judge-McRae School of Nursing is consistent with the university’s mission and will help address the nursing shortage and expanding healthcare needs of the region. The Ferguson Health Sciences Building, which will serve Mars Hill traditional age nursing students, will feature state-of-the-art clinical spaces and simulation labs.
Mars Hill Fund – The Mars Hill Fund is the unrestricted lifeblood of the university, meeting immediate, urgent and scholarship needs of Mars Hill students. it is the conduit through which alumni can have an impact on the daily lives of our students.
Endowed Faculty Development – In order to ensure a scholarly faculty who continue to be challenged within their areas of discipline, it is imperative the university provide its instructors with ongoing opportunities for study and research. By expanding resources for faculty related growth opportunities, the Mars Hill student experience remains relevant and contemporary.
Endowed Student Scholarships – Scholarships will continue to equate to opportunities for the university’s students. Without them, students cannot achieve the dream of a university education. While 99% of our students require financial assistance, we are committed to making a Mars Hill education as affordable as possible.
