“In my 25 years of service here at Mars Hill, I can’t think of a more profound advancement in our overall athletic programs than a new Athletic Field House. Locker room space and adequate coaches offices would be made available for all our sports for the first time. This alone would bring a much needed increase in notoriety and integrity to all our athletic programs.”
–Kevin Barnette, Assistant Head Football Coach, Class of 1985
- The new Athletic Field House will support the university’s 19 NCAA Sports teams. Current facilities were built in the 1960s to support 8 varsity teams.
- The Athletic Field House will provide locker room space, training rooms, weight room facilities and coaches’ offices for football, women’s soccer, tennis, and golf.
- The addition of the Athletic Field House will enable team and coach offices which are currently spread throughout campus to be centrally located in or near Chambers Gym.
Upgraded facilities offered in the new athletic field house will be an integral component of student-athlete recruitment and retention for the future.
